Choosing a Moving Company

In choosing a reputable moving company, go with a name you know or ask family and friends for names of movers they have used. When contacting companies do not be affraid of asking questions like: How long they have been in business? Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau? Do they have a physical location? With so many businesses operating online only, you want to make sure your are dealing with an established company.

At Boyd Moving & Storage we are very pround of the fact that we have been servcing the Ottawa and Gatineau region since 1947. We are also proud of our A PLUS rating with the Better Busines Bureau and work very hard to maintain it.

Ask companies about the type of facility they have? Are they licensed? Are they insured? Do they have WSIB certificate? Have their staff been trained? What type of trucks do they use? What happens if something gets damaged? The answers to these questions can help determine if you are dealing with a company that follows proper business practices. Price is important, but finding a resposible moving company is more important.

Boyd Moving & Storage has recently moved to at new location at 1255 Leeds Ave, Ottawa. Our facility houses a complete household storage warehouse, a commercial warehousing and distribution center, Canada’s largest indoor vehicle storage, a moving materials and equipment store and a brand new 80 foot truck scale. We are fully licensed as a for hire carrier, fully insured, our staff has been trained in-house and at United Van Lines and are completely covered by WSIB. Our trucks come fully equiped with pads, straps and floor runners to ensure our clients belongings are well protected.
